Apple slips up, leaks iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3

So, hey — there's an Apple event tomorrow. We've been speculating, like everyone else, that a few new iPads were coming. Typically, that's just chatter until Apple reveals what they've got for us, which usually comes via their announcement. No matter how convincing the leaks or rumors are (remember the iPhone 6?!), we temper it with pragmatism, and patiently wait for Apple to confirm things. They've done that a bit early this time, with the new iPad owner's manual tipping Apple's iHand for tomorrow's event.

We thought we'd get an iPad Air refresh, and maybe even a new iPad mini. As it turns out, we're going to see both! The iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 are mentioned in the iPad owner's manual, which somehow went live a day ahead of their big event. Whoops.

Aside from naming, we'll be seeing Touch ID on both tablets, as well as burst-mode photography for the iPad Air 2. Please don't use your iPad, or any tablet, for taking photos, though. It's just bad form.

The manual also reveals that iOS 8.1 is on the way. It's not clear if iOS 8.1 will launch when the tablets go on sale, but the manual notes it prominently, so we'd assume as much.

We'll be live an in-person at Apple's event tomorrow, so be sure to check back here for all your iNews! In addition to these tablets, we're all expecting some Mac news, though we haven't heard much on that front, so at least we're getting some surprises (maybe).
