Albatron slimline netbook video demo

, May 15th 2009 Discuss [1]

After the teasing photograph from earlier on today, we now have hands-on videos of the Albatron slimline netbook.  Weighing under 1kg yet packing a 10.2-inch display, Intel Atom N270 processor and a 6-cell 3,600mAh battery, the Albatron machine also promises optional UMTS and WiMAX models.

On-device ports include audio in/out, a 4-in-1 memory card reader, two USB 2.0 ports and a proprietary connector for the combo VGA/ethernet dongle that Albatron use to keep thickness down.  Considering it’s rare for most mobile users to actually require those ports while on the move, it makes sense to offset them in that way.

Storage is either a 1.8-inch hard-drive or a choice of 8GB or 16GB SSD.  No word on exact dimensions or pricing as yet, but it’s looking like little-known Albatron might be causing quite a splash in the netbook world.  Look out Eee PC 1008HA
