2015 Chevy Silverado Custom offers V8 or V6 power

Chevrolet has unveiled a new version of the 2015 Silverado truck that is aimed at bringing some value back to the new truck market. Trucks have become notoriously expensive over the last few years putting them out of reach of many buyers who are interested. Chevy has unveiled the 2015 Silverado Custom as a way to get "back to basics, with style" for truck buyers.

The Silverado Custom starts at $33,820 for a well-equipped double-cab truck with a V8 engine under the hood. The Custom is based on the Chevy double-cab Silverado LS and adds 20-inch aluminum wheels, chrome bumpers, body-color top cap above the front bumper, chrome mirror caps, and chrome door handles.

The double cab design gives four full doors and the front seat is a 40/20/40 cloth unit. The Custom also gets tilt steering, cruise control, power windows, power locks, and Chevy MyLink with 4G LTE WiFi. The truck has a 5.3L EcoTec V8 rated at 355hp and promising the best fuel economy of any V8 truck.

Buyers can also opt for a smaller 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 engine producing the most torque of any standard V6. Both engines feature direct fuel injection, continuously variable valve timing, and Active Fuel Management. A V8 equipped 4x4 version of the truck will start at $37,800. The truck is available to order from dealers starting this month.
