Zune Now Works With Mac, Using VMware
Using the VMware beta for Mac, users can now connect the Zune to the Mac. You can download and transfer music back and forth from the Mac and the Zune. Although it is not officially compatible, this is great news for Mac users. I'm sure that compatibility is not limited to VMware; It probably also works in Parallels and Boot Camp.
Zune's market share has been dismal since its start, and this new information about compatibility with Macs may not boost market share. Furthermore, the Zune has not been released in a ton of countries as of yet, including Canada. Even if it doesn't strengthen market share of Zunes it will certainly help customers who are stuck on buying Macs, but want to buy a Zune (Ok, who am I kidding, no one wants a Zune!)
Zune-Online has more info. Zune-Online also broke the story earlier this week that involved putting Linux on the Zune, which has had a little progress now, thanks to a "Mys Videl".
