Yet another Kingdom Hearts compilation hits PS4 ahead of KH3

It's a running joke that Square Enix's Kingdom Hearts series is filled with oddly-titled spin-offs and side stories while only featuring two main entires up to now. At this point, there have been almost as many compilations as actual new titles, and this all before Kingdom Hearts III is finally released in January 2019. The publisher must figure one more compilation before then can't hurt, and has announced Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far, collecting every unique title in the series for the PlayStation 4.The Story So Far contains no new content, and therefor die-hard Kingdom Hearts fans likely already own everything included in this collection. Instead, this package is intended to make it easy for players who might have given up the series or missed some of its non-main entires since the original Kingdom Hearts debuted in 2002.

Priced at just $40, The Story So Far brings together the two previous PS4 releases into a single purchase: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue, both released in early 2017. Also, both of those titles were already compilations, excluding the latter's KH 0.2: Birth by Sleep.

So, here's the full list of everything that's included in The Story So Far:

- Kingdom Hearts Final Mix

- Kingdom Hearts Re:Chain of Memories

- Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (HD remaster)

- Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix

- Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix

- Kingdom Hearts Re:coded (HD cinematic)

- Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD

- Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep-A Fragmentary Passage

- Kingdom Hearts X Back Cover (movie)

That's every single story-related release in the series, leaving nothing out that a fan might want to experience before KH3. Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far comes to PS4 on October 30th, but interestingly there's no Xbox One version announced. Kingdom Hearts III launches on January 29th, 2019 for both PS4 and Xbox One.
