Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S will feature Snapdragon 845, official debut on March 27

Rumors about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S have been circulating for a while now, but it appears the real deal is almost here. While the impressive Mi Mix 2 (pictured above) was only released last fall, it seems the Chinese phone maker is ready to release a successor, albeit with some serious spec improvements. A Xiaomi representative officially confirmed the device on Twitter this weekend, adding that it would be launching on March 27th.

The announcement itself was thin on details, and it didn't include any images of the Mi Mix 2S, but it did reveal that the phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 845, Qualcomm's latest flagship processor. Along with the March 27th launch date, the tweet included an image featuring the number "273741," which is believed to be the AnTuTu benchmark score of the device.

Xiaomi's announcement is timed just as this year's Mobile World Congress event is kicking off in Barcelona. While the company will be present on the show floor, it isn't expected to have any additional details to share on the Mi Mix 2S, instead waiting until next month.

Along with the now-confirmed Snapdragon 845, the Mi Mix 2S is expected to feature a huge 5.99-inch display covering the front of the device, complete with an 18:9 aspect ratio, Full HD+ resolution, and barely-there bezels. On the inside, the phone is likely to come with 8GB of RAM and an option for 256GB of storage, and ship with Android 8.0 Oreo.
