Next Major Xbox System Update: Sneak Peek!

The Xbox Insider Program has an Xbox One update they've begun delivering today to all participants on the console. Customization elements will be delivered to both Xbox One and Windows 10. This new update will also give users an "effortless" guide navigation, a reorganized Activity Feed, and a new Game Bar. This update is all about deeper control of the system – how it looks and what it does.

On Xbox One, users will FINALLY be able to customize the look of their homepage. Users will be able to "Add to Home" things like games and friends – not entirely unlike Windows Phone used to allow. Or still does allow – last time it was updated.

Using Microsoft Fluent Design principles, the home page will focus on "speed, customization, and expression." That apparently includes sending notifications to you through the blocks you've placed on the homepage. Suggestions are included there as well – smart for Microsoft.

In Windows 10, users will be able to enable and disable their Game Mode with a switch in the Game Bar. Audio controls are getting a bit more deep: game-only audio and system-wide audio toggle included. Windows 10 also gets a new Xbox Live Network Troubleshooting option in settings – not that you'll ever use it.

According to Xbox's Mike Ybarra, "This is just the beginning of some major updates arriving for Xbox gamers later this year." We're expecting some big changes before the new year!
