Xbox Music Videos bring the art back to the living room

Back in the before times, back when the channel known as MTV (Music Television) was just born, there was a piece of media called the Music Video. In the many years since the birth of this piece of art, musicians have gone in and out of requirements for working on visual compliments to their audio. Today Microsoft's Xbox Music team is bringing a big bit back to the living room with Music Videos for Xbox Music.

The difference between how Xbox Music worked before this switchover and after is small. Users will still only have to play their favorite music on command. The difference is, if the music has a music video compliment, it'll play automatically.

On the Xbox One, for now, that is. This service may move to other forms of Xbox Music in the future, but for now, it's just for Xbox One.

Right this minute if you say "Xbox Play" on your favorite playlist or track, you won't quite see the music video magic. The update should come today or later this week.

For those of you who haven't joined the service, Xbox Music will cost you a cool $9.99 per month or $99 for a full year. This service can also be previewed for 30 days for free.
