Xbox 360 Elite to debut in Japan this October

If you hadn't heard, the Xbox 360 has been on sale in Japan for quite some time now. Granted, people aren't exactly snatching them up like hotcakes over there. Nintendo has pretty much taken over the country with both the DS and the Wii, so it doesn't leave a lot of room for other consoles. Microsoft is hoping to win some of the market share by introducing the Xbox 360 Elite to the Japanese.

This October 11th Japanese gamers will have the opportunity to purchase the Xbox 360 Elite for the first time. I'm sure that the reason that they haven't been buying the 360 is because of the lack of HDMI connectivity. Yea, that's it.

The good thing for those in the Land of the Rising Sun is that the 360 Elite will only run about 47,800 Yen. That's about $390 in our money, which calculates out to a savings of nearly $100 from what we pay over here.
