WhatsApp Web gains support for new browsers

WhatsApp is a popular messaging app that users can use to send texts, images, and share locations with each other. The web version of the app has been updated to support two more popular browsers, which is good news for web users. WhatsApp now supports Firefox and Opera browsers. Previously the only supported web browser was Chrome.

As annoying as it is to have to open a different browser than you usually use just to use an app you like, having WhatsApp Web on Firefox and Opera is great. In addition to working with the three web browsers, WhatsApp is also available for most mobile phones.

There are WhatsApp apps for iOS, Nokia devices, Android, and Windows Phone. BlackBerry users can even get in on the WhatsApp action with an app just for them. Using WhatsApp you can message people without having to pay for SMS charges.

That's not such a big deal in today's world of unlimited texts. Where apps like WhatsApp really shine is in allowing you to contact people on or from devices that only work with WiFi. Those devices often can't send or receive texts by default.
