Westone Elite Series in-ear earphones aim at musicians and audiophiles

Westone is a company that specializes in producing high performance audio and in ear earphones. The company has announced a new line of Elite series high performance in-ear monitors that are aimed at professional musicians and audiophiles. The E-Series earphones include several models.

The range includes the E-Series 10, 20, 30, and 50. The earphones share some of the same features including the Westone True-fit technology. True-fit technology creates earpieces that are cast, sculpted, and polished by hand from impressions of the individual's ears.

Westone says that the fitting process provides the best possible fit and acoustic seal. The ES10 earphones use a single armature driver. The ES20, 30, and 50 earphones use multiple balanced armature drivers with a multistage crossover design.

The top of the line ES50 earphones have five balanced armature drivers and a three-way crossover. The custom material used for the ear tips is made using a flex canal and a body temperature reactive semisoft earpiece canal additive to provide increased comfort. Pricing for the earphones is unknown, but considering you need a cast made of your ear to get them, they aren't likely to be cheap.
