Wacom Cintiq 13HD touch launches this month

Wacom has introduced a new Cintiq tablet for artists and related professionals, the Cintiq 13HD touch. This joins the maker's other myriad of slates (including those we saw during CES), giving many of the features users have come to expect alongside a relatively small display and a stand upon which the device can be propped up. Those interested won't have to wait long to get their hands on the device: it arrives early this month, though an exact day hasn't yet been provided.

The Wacom Cintiq 13HD touch is, like some of the maker's other products, designed to feel like one is drawing on paper or a canvas, working alongside the Pro Pen. With this stylus, users get 2,048 pressure sensitivity levels and tilt recognition. Multi-touch integration, meanwhile, allows for things like zooming by mixing together the pen and good ol' fashioned touch.

Of course, a pen only goes so far if the display isn't up to par; fortunately, and as we've come to expect from Wacom, it is. The Cintiq 13HD touch offers a Full HD display with 16.7 million colors, a widescreen format, LED backlight, a 178-degree viewing angle, and the promise of "crisp colors".

Propping it up will be relatively easy with the inclusion of a stand, something that is adjustable in four increments: flat, 22, 35, and 50 degrees. This allows it to be used on a desk or, if need be, on a lap. The tablet will cost $999.95 USD when it launches; it'll be available on Wacom's website and at some unspecified retailers.
