Voice chat to be integrated into World of Warcraft

I play World of Warcraft, though not as much as I used to. One of the things that I've never really gotten into is Voice chat. Sure, a lot of my guild mates love to use Ventrillio to chat, but I'm just not into it. Something about actually hearing their voices takes away from my enjoyment of the game. Now Blizzard is talking about integrating voice chat into the game.

I'm actually against them integrating it into the game. While many people have headsets, not everyone does. So those without will no doubt have trouble grouping up with people. Once it is a standard, people with voice chat aren't going to want to deal with those that don't, because they will find it easier to coordinate with their group members if they can just talk. While I know that this is useful, it's just not my style. I know that my guild mates wouldn't discriminate, but I'm worried that other people will not want to group with me because I don't enjoy voice chat.

Plus, what are you going to do when you find out that hot Night Elf chick that you've been crushing over has a deep manly voice? That'll cause a few moments of awkward silence.
