Verizon LG Ally detailed: Android 2.1 on May 20th

Details of the Verizon LG Ally have leaked, with BGR being sent internal documents from the carrier that tip the Android 2.1 smartphone for a May 20th release. The Ally has a 3.2-inch WVGA touchscreen, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7627 processor and a 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera with flash; as well as Android 2.1 there's also a bevy of custom LG widgets that pull in calendar, weather and Facebook/Twitter details to the homescreen.

Elsewhere there's WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and GPS, together with a 3.5mm headphone socket, microSD card slot (with a 4GB card preinstalled), speakerphone and dual-band EVDO Rev.A. The whole thing measures 4.56 x 2.22 x 0.62 and weighs in at 5.57oz, and Verizon reckon you'll see up to 450 minutes talktime or 500hrs standby from a full charge.

All in all, while we're glad to see another hardware QWERTY handset, the 600MHz CPU is a little disappointing. Pre-orders for the Verizon LG Ally are expected to kick off on May 13th; no word on pricing at this stage.
