Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn Alpha 1 now available

If you're up for checking out the upcoming version of Ubuntu — Utopic Unicorn 14.10 — the first alpha has been released. There are images available for GNOME, Kubuntu, and other popular varieties, and with the images come some software updates and system improvements.

As with any pre-release build, particularly an alpha build, those who aren't familiar with what that entails (hint: bugs) should steer clear. If you're up for checking out what the next version brings and helping pick out issues, however, you can grab the ISO from the Ubuntu website.

Accordingly, the Alpha 1 release has been tested and is said to work, and users are encouraged to compare any issues they encounter with the latest daily image before reporting — reporting on bugs that have already been fixed isn't terribly helpful, after all.

You can grab the latest daily image over on CDimage.Ubuntu.com. For other related news, check out our Ubuntu tag portal, as well as the timeline below.
