Twitter is down, it's not just you, April 2018

This morning Twitter experienced some problems at its source. The servers that keep Twitter in business appeared to be having some issues at around 9AM Central Time, and the problem did not appear to be localized to any one country or region. Reports poured in from California to Poland, Utah to Romania. Hide your kids, hide your wife, and hide your husband, because there's no Twitter right now, and that's an issue.

Reported problems from DownDetector centered on website issues, pointing to server problems rather than issues with any one app interface. This is the fourth time Twitter appeared to have significant issues in the month. Previous issues appeared and were quickly resolved on the 6th, 9th, and 12th of April, 2018.

"Something is technically wrong," said Twitter. "Thanks for noticing—we're going to fix it up and have things back to normal soon." Actual Twitter representatives were unavailable for comment, as email has fallen by the wayside in the current era of this Social Networking Apocalypse. Store your food, stack your paper. It's time for the end times. There's no hope left for those that need information from the President.

While issues were reported at the top of the hour, Twitter's official status page at Status dot Twitterstat dot US showed Twitter at "All Systems Operational." So it's not all that clear what the big deal is. Stick around as we continue to investigate using... I don't know... MySpace? Can't trust Facebook anymore. Maybe Google+, if there's still support there? We'll see!
