TRENDnet TEW-672GR dual-band WiFi N router

TRENDnet have begun shipping their 300Mbps Dual Band Wireless N Gigabit Router, the TEW-672GR.  Capable of using either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands, the TEW-672GR also has four gigabit ethernet ports and a "double firewall" using both Network Address Translation (NAT) and Stateful Packet Inspection (SPI) protocols.

A WiFi on/off switch allows you to lock down your network if you don't want wireless users to access it, while the TEW-672GR supports WPA/WPA2, WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK and WEP encryption together with one-touch WPS setup.  Advanced MIMO claims to minimize possible deadspots using the three antennas.  It's available now, priced at $157.99.

It isn't clear whether, like the Linksys WRT610N, the TRENDnet router is able to use both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously.  If not, it would mean users would need to select between them during setup, and the system – in 5GHz mode – would only work with 5GHz-specific or dual-frequency WiFi adaptors.  I've asked with TRENDnet if this is the case, and will update the post once I hear back from them.

Update: TRENDnet have confirmed to us that the TEW-672GR is a non-concurrent dual band router; that is, you can only use one band at a time. They will, howeve, be launching a concurrent dual band router – the TEW-673GR – in "a few months".
