Transformers 4: Age of Extinction trailer "Payoff" goes monstrous

Welcome to the alien metal universe in which the Transformers exist. In the newest trailer for the Transformers 4 film Age of Extinction, you'll find details surrounding the deconstruction of the Transformers timeline. This is well into the future – there's no more Shia LeBeouf here.

Again you'll see Mark Wahlberg taking command with a teardown and fix-up of a Transformer. It would appear he's found Optimus Prime in a less-than-ideal state. Selling the parts he's found as scrap would not help him save his down-and-out family – instead he'll bring the Transformer back to life, just in time to battle the mech dinosaur hoards.

There's a spaceship so large it could crush neighborhoods with a crash landing as well – but the big payoff comes near the end of this trailer. Metal chomping with a tyrannosaurus bot, and all good things in metal form. This is Grimlock – this is the evil we'll be facing.

If we didn't already see the Transformer "Shockwave" in Dark of the Moon, we'd suspect he's showing up here too. That's a transformer turning into a massive gun, after all.

Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammar and Li Bingbing are also here to join in on the fun – and it does appear that there's slightly less splashing of metal pieces directly into your eyes than there was in the previous production. Here we might be able to let our eyes rest a bit more readily.

This movie is going to be directed by Michael Bay and it's all about human extinction. Bumble Bee will have to save us all this time, and our man Mark.
