Toshiba Portege R30 updated with fourth-gen Intel Core M power

Toshiba has announced that its Portege R30 premium ultraportable laptop has been updated with new processor options from Intel. The machine can now be fitted with full-voltage fourth generation Intel Core M processors. The ultraportable also has an integrated DVD drive despite its lightweight and thin profile.

The R30 is only about an inch thick and weighs 3.2 pounds. Other hardware features include the availability of up to 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, up to 750 GB of storage space the a traditional hard drives or 512 GB via a SSD storage. The ultraportable also has integrated Intel vPro technology along with the Trusted Platform Module and a fingerprint reader for additional security.

The notebook continues to use a premium magnesium alloy Tough Body chassis with increased shock absorbing protection and a honeycomb reinforcement structure for rigidity and durability. Toshiba also outfits the notebook with AirFlow II cooling technology to keep it running at full speed no matter how long you need to work.

Other harbor features include a trio of USB 3.0 ports, full-sized HDMI output, a memory card reader, and an ethernet port. The USB ports feature Toshiba's USB 3.0 Sleep & Charge technology allows users to recharge smartphones and other devices while computer is turned off. The machine will go on sale at the end of November at an undisclosed price.
