Toshiba announces Satellite T100 notebook with AMD power

Toshiba has offered up a couple new T100 laptop models at CES with AMD processors and multimedia capabilities in the ultra thin category. The new machines use the AMD Neo platform with dual-core processors and graphics from ATI.

One of the new models is the 13.3-inch T135D with Windows 7 Home Premium, AMD Turion Neo X2 Athlon or Neo MV-40 CPUs. The notebook can have up to 4GB of RAM and up to 320GB of storage. 802.11b/g/n networking is integrated and power comes from a 6-cell battery good for up to six hours. Graphics are via ATI Radeon 3200 GPUs on select models.

The T115D is an 11.6-inch machine with the same processor and graphics options. It has 2GB of RAM and a 250GB HDD. The machine has 802.11b/g/n WiFi and a 6-cell battery good for up to 5.5 hours. The T135D will start at $599.99 and the T115D will start at $449.99 with both shipping on January 17.
