Titanfall will never hit the PlayStation 4, but Titanfall 2 may

Titanfall has created a huge buzz in the gaming industry and is said to be one of the most impressive video games in years. The game has been announced as coming to the Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC gamers. We knew the title was an Xbox exclusive video game, but new information has surfaced about just how exclusive the game is.

Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment has announced this week that it only just found out that the game publisher Electronic Arts signed an agreement with Microsoft making Titanfall an exclusive on consoles for the Xbox One and Xbox 360 for the life of the title. That means the video game can never be released for the PlayStation 4.

The most surprising part of this is that the developer of the game had no idea EA was even in talks with Microsoft to make the game a lifetime exclusive. Respawn Entertainment studio boss Vince Zampella tweeted:

Always MS exclusive at launch, great partner and focus is good for a start up. EA made a deal for the rest, we only found out recently =(

The good news is that Respawn Entertainment does intend to make games for the PlayStation 4. Even though gamers haven't got hands-on with Titanfall just yet, the game has created lots of anticipation when it became the first title ever to win six E3 Critics Awards. The video game won in every category where it was nominated during E3 2013.
