Three Acer Gingerbread tablets tipped for Q1 2011

Acer's tablet plans continue to bubble away, with the latest rumors suggesting three models are in the pipeline.  According to DigiTimes' sources, the three Acer tablets will run Android 3.0 Gingerbread and range in size from 5-inches, through 7-inches and up to 10-inches.  They won't drop until Q1 2011, however; Acer will first test the tablet waters with an x86 Windows 7 slate, apparently, with minimal expectations as to how it might sell.

As for the Android hardware, Acer are supposedly still deciding between NVIDIA's Tegra 2 chipset or Qualcomm's Snapdragon, as well as between Compal and Quanta for manufacturing duties.  The 5-inch model will be positioned as a smartphone/tablet hybrid, with talk of carrier deals for voice functionality as with the Dell Streak and Samsung Galaxy Tab.
