This Lego robot is controlled with a Lego exosuit

Now here's a Lego creation that's impressive! A humanoid robot with arms and legs is controlled with a wearable Lego exoskeleton. It should be obvious by now that this isn't an official upcoming kit from the Danish toy maker, but rather a DIY project from engineer Danny Benedettelli. The setup is powered by an Arduino hobbyist board, and the exosuit wearer is able to send commands from several feet away. When the suit's arms move, the robot's follow the same motion.

Benedettelli's project has been in development for several years now, starting out as a robot based on Lego's Mindstorm NXT system. The video below shows the creation circa 2011, with an Android phone integrated into the robot's body, and running an app that makes it capable walking, talking, and even detecting faces.

This was expanded on and Benedettelli got it working with his telemetry exosuit. Each of the robot's arms move individually and fluidly, with multiple points of articulation.

But beyond that the only other real movement is limited to the torso. It's still a work in progress, of course, and Benedettelli says he has plans to make the robot fully mobile, as well as make the exosuit capable of opening and closing its hands.
