Taser demo three-way X3 electro-shock on own staff [Video]

Working in the Taser office has to be one of the more unusual places you can put on your CV, especially when under "key duties" you can list "three-way tase subject".  The company has released a video demonstrating their latest "less lethal" device, the X3, which is capable of not one but three shots in short-succession with simultaneous application of up to 400 to 1,200 volts.Video demo after the cut

Taser are coy with the full details of the X3 right now, but they've confirmed that it works at equal or less voltage than the current X26.  That outputs up to 50,000 volts at its peak, which is scaled down to the 400-1,200 range when it reaches the target.  Handily, the X3 also has a report feature that tells you if you managed "good", "partial" or "no connection" with your target's body; it would be even better if it printed that out on a little cash register receipt, but we doubt it will.  What you can do, though, is connect the X3 wirelessly to a computer and pull up stats and other discharge details.

The multi-shot system is something Taser call "rotational pulse drive", and basically allows you to fire three darts in quick succession and then charge them all at the same time.  The X3 will be officially unveiled on July 27th; until then, enjoy the video of what we hope are three volunteers being shocked to the sound of jubilant cheers.
