If I talked frequently to people who lived a long way away, it would be useful. If you are an avid Skype user Yamaha has announced two new Skype-certified speakerphones called the PSG-01S and the PJP-25URS.
Hot on the heels of their Sonos-rivaling MediaCAST2 system, Yamaha have announced their neoHD Media Controllers. Pulling together multiple AV components with a simple, HTPC-style "Watch/Listen/Play" UI, two models are on offer: the entry-level YMC-500, which includes remote IR control, and the YMC-700 which adds WiFi for networked content streaming, Rhapsody online music, internet radio and iTunes AAC support thanks to an included license for TwonkyMedia Server.
Yamaha have announced a new version of their home audio streaming system, the MusicCAST2. Set to take on Sonos in the high-end audiophile market, MusicCAST2 currently consists of a touchscreen LCD controller, the MCX-RC100 Network Music Commander, and two types of Network Music Players, the MCX-A300, which has an integrated amplifier, or the MCX-P200, which is non-amplified for integration with an existing AV setup.

The Yamaha BD-S2900 was announced today and if you're in the market for a super high-end Blu-ray player, this may very well be the one for you. This player has HD Audio Bitstream output and several other features that set it apart from the norm.
Yamaha have begun shipping their exercise-centric BODiBEAT PMP, which automatically selects songs that match the pace of your workout. Combination earphones and pulse-monitor (which clips onto your ear) are included, as is software that automatically analyses your music and then syncs track selections with the steps of the your walk or run. Onboard storage is a pittance, however – just 512MB – and battery life around 12 hours.
Yamaha have unveiled another model in their Digital Sound Projector range, the YSP-3050. Offering the usual pseudo-surround sound effect from a single array of 23 individual speakers, the 3050 slots in underneath the existing flagship model but still packs analog to HDMI video upconversion, high-def video upscaling to 1080i/720p and full 1080p (24Hz and 60Hz) compatibility.

Yeah, these are definitely not for the shallow pocketed or those that usually can’t hear the difference between a pair of iPhone ear-buds and a pair of high-end Sennheisers. But if you do like simplistic external design, with top of the line components inside, well Yamaha might not be your first choice, but this is some pretty nice gear for uner $2000 each.
The CD player has a TI PCM-1792 DAC in it so you can get the best quality analog signal from your newly purchased Atmosphere album (coming soon, I can’t wait), I mean just imagine hearing Ant’s beats out of this pair with some nice speakers attached. The amp has separate amplifiers and power supply inside so the two don’t combine to create the comparably nasty sound of a shelf stereo or something of that nature.
