This is what the Lenovo Retro Thinkpad looks like

Games aren’t the only ones going retro these days. Vinyl is back, for example. And so is the Thinkpad. While the Thinkpad has, of course, never really vanished, the design that has made the brand an icon (or point of ridicule, depending on who you ask) has given way to the ultra slim notebooks of today. That said, there’s always money to be made for an homage to the classics, and the new old Lenovo Thinkpad is probably going to be a hit. Especially because its looks will be proverbially deceiving.

Lenovo X1 Carbon (5th Gen) Review: Almost perfect

Lenovo X1 Carbon (5th Gen) Review: Almost perfect

Imagine pulling a laptop out of its box for the first time, only to worry that it may not include a battery due to its insanely light weight. That was my first thought when I retrieved the latest Lenovo X1 Carbon (5th generation) from its box. It's hard to imagine that this laptop is powered by anything other than thin air, mostly because it's hard to imagine there's an entire set of hardware -- including a battery, of course -- inside this thin and light body. What kind of sacrifices had to be made to produce such a svelte laptop? Surprisingly few, it turns out.

In less than two months, the year will be over so naturally manufacturers are already lining up their ducks for 2016. Lenovo's calendar for its 2016 ThinkPad catalog has just been leaked and it includes quite a few interesting pieces. There is, for example, another Surface Pro clone, which looks less like a clone, thankfully. And among the plethora of new laptops and hybrids lies a Chromebook, as if once again emphasizing that Chrome OS isn't going away yet. At least not by first quarter next year.

Lenovo has a new pair of convertible ThinkPad laptops bearing the Yoga moniker, and they're both hailed as being more mobile and connected than past options. Both feature the same Yoga functionality we've seen on other Lenovo machines, including the ability to fold all the way back into a tablet-like mode. This is coupled with ultra fast connectivity, however, allowing users to connect and browse the Internet rapidly.

Lenovo ThinkPad Retro isn’t real – but it could be

Lenovo ThinkPad Retro isn’t real – but it could be

Lenovo's Vice President of Corporate Identity and Design David Hill teases a retro-inspired ThinkPad notebook. And the crowd goes wild. The design language originated back in 1992 by designer Richard Sapper here is mixed with a machine with new interior, high-end hardware, and what we can assume will be the newest in new Windows 10 software. While Hill hasn't confirmed the existence of this ThinkPad Retro notebook, he's certainly made a good case for it to exist. If ThinkPad fans have anything to say about it, the ThinkPad Retro will soon be on its way.

Lenovo ThinkPad L450, E550, E450: performance at value price

Lenovo has a ton of laptops here at CES 2015 and a good number of them are geared towards more seasoned, and likely more well-funded, professionals. However, the PC maker definitely hasn't forgotten that class of professionals who don't want to break into a bank just to get their hands on a quality laptop. For these people, Lenovo has outed the eco-friendly ThinkPad L450, the business-minded ThinkPad E550, and its smaller sibling the ThinkPad E450, three notebooks that aim to deliver professional-level performance without the high price tag.
