This week we're taking a peek at a LEGO motorcycle [BMW R 1200 GS Adventure] that can be re-built as a hoverbike. It's completely batty, to be sure - but the appeal in having a BMW-branded hoverbike was more than I could handle. I had to built it - and built it I did. It took a few hours (spread out over a few days, about an hour off and on each day), and was quite enjoyable to see unfold. The build you're seeing here photographed by SlashGear is the Hoverbike part of this equation.

A new "Extended Death Star Meeting Scene" has surfaced at Star Wars Celebration 2017. In this scene, generally known for its first appearance of Tarkin and discussion of the power of the Death Star, we hear the word "Sith" for the first time in the original trilogy. We also hear mention of the bureaucratic meaning of the Death Star. While it's not clear whether the makers of Rogue One had access to the scene we're seeing today, it IS clear that major potential for coincidence is alive and well here in 2017.

Lucasfilm and Disney have officially unveiled the title card and name of the next big sci-fi epic: Star Wars: The Last Jedi. This film is part of the Skywalker saga, which means it's going to be part of the "Episode ##" movies - in this case Episode 8, or Episode VIII. This movie will take place immediately after the end of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. We'll expect Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailers to start popping up SOON.

The last few years have been difficult for the production team behind the Star Trek fan film Axanar, with their ambitious project getting them sued by CBS and Paramount, owners of the franchise, followed by news that the copyright lawsuit was being dropped, only for it to proceed anyway. But it appears the bumpy road has finally come to an end, as Axanar Productions has revealed it's finally reached a settlement with the film and TV studios, preventing the need for a jury trial.

The USA Department of Defense has witnessed the first successful public test of the Army's latest in futuristic vehicles - the hoverbike. This device is officially known as the Joint Tactical Aerial Resupply Vehicle (JTARV), and can be seen tested without a pilot in a video shared by the United States Army Research Laboratory this week. The video shows a small-scale prototype test flight, and may move on to flights with pilots in the near future.
