The team responsible for letting the world know about HD Voice with AT&T (aka VoLTE) have made a surprisingly simple case of it. They’ve suggested that upgrading to HD Voice - or High-definition Voice, if you prefer - is like trading your low-def television from the 1980s in for an HD TV from our modern market. You’ll never want to go back, they say.
This week the Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is being tossed into the pool with details the likes of which only generally come from an already-released device. This would be the equivalent of the Galaxy S4 Mini or the Galaxy S III Mini, both devices coming not long after their larger brethren. This Samsung Galaxy S5 Mini is also said to be coming with waterproofing - generally only reserved for Samsung’s "Active" smartphone line - and the Galaxy S5, of course.
Coming off some earlier rumors and leaks of a US release, Samsung has officially announced the availability of the Galaxy S4 mini. The handset will be coming to four US carriers and it is set to arrive next month. While Samsung has confirmed the phone will be arriving in November, we do still need specific release dates and prices from the carriers.
The iPhone 5s beat out the LG G2 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 in Which? magazine's latest independent speed test of top-performing smartphones. Using a phone simulation program called Geekbench, the test found that the iPhone outperformed the competition in both single-core and multi-core performance benchmarks. Notably, the S4 slipped to third place after having scored top honors in June of this year.
If you're huge fan of the Samsung Galaxy S4, but wished for something a little more compact Samsung has now launched the S4 Mini. The S4 Mini is the little brother to the full-size Galaxy S4 and the Mini is now available in South Korea.
HTC's new One mini may not be due to hit shelves until next month, but that hasn't stopped retailers from officially pricing up the 4.3-inch smartphone already. Though HTC would only say that it expects the carrier-subsidized One mini to be "two price points" lower than the HTC One, the SIM-free One mini will apparently be £379.99 ($579) unlocked and with tax in the UK.
The smallest entrant in this week's barrage of devices being shown in London is the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which we've gotten the opportunity to get hands-on time with today. This device is a shadow of what the Samsung Galaxy S4 brings to the party with a 4.3-inch display (perfect if you're switching now from the Samsung Galaxy S II), with qHD resolution. Inside also is a 1.7GHz dual-core processor that's just a bit less powerful than its bigger siblings.
Samsung's new Galaxy S4 Mini, announced earlier today, will be offered in LTE form in the UK, it's been confirmed. The new, smaller iteration of the flagship Galaxy S 4 would be offered in three forms depending on market, Samsung had said today, with 3G, dual-SIM 3G, and 4G variants; now, the UK's only current 4G carrier, EE, has weighed in with confirmation that it will be offering the smartphone.
Samsung has revealed the Galaxy S4 Mini, the widely-anticipated smaller version of the Galaxy S 4, packing a 4.3-inch display, dualcore processor, and an 8-megapixel main camera. Set to hit shelves in LTE, 3G, and 3G dual-SIM forms, depending on country, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini shrinks its full-sized sibling's screen down to qHD resolution from Full HD, and has only a 1.7GHz dualcore chip rather than the quadcore of the bigger phone. However, that makes for a more pocketable device, trimmed to 124.6 x 61.3 x 8.94 mm and 107g for the new Mini phone.
