MOTORAZR2 V8 on T-Mobile now

T-Mobile today released their version of Motorola’s latest jack, the MOTORAZR2 V8. if you want to know the big difference between this model and the ones that everyone else got, it’s a slight bit of software customization and then the lack of any storage expansion slot, but in trade, it does come with 2GB of storage built in.

After the release of the iPhone, in fact after just about any phone released since a few months ago, releasing the RAZR2 with it’s only impressive feature being a high res external screen with a touch-sensitive portion at the bottom, that’s just unacceptable. Especially at a price point of $249 after a 2 year contract, that’s just crazy.

Motorola RAZR2 V8 Runs Linux, Dropping Any Time Now

So some of you I am sure saw our own Chris Davies’ review of the Sprint RAZR2 V9m. Well, Motorola has released another model already, the V8, the key difference being that it’s Linux powered.

Specs wise there is a WMP11 codec, a USB 2.0 interface, a touchscreen customized for music, 512MB of integrated storage and up to 2GB of (microSD?) user storage. You can also read text messages on the external display. There is quad band GSM/GPRS, a 2MP cam with MPEG4 video support and 8x zoom. The external display is the same 2” QVGA screen, the internal one is 2.2” same resolution as the external one.

MOTORAZR 2 coming to Sprint next month?

An anonymous tip came into Boy Genius Report stating that the Motorola RAZR2 V9M should be launching on Sprint sometime next month.

Expect the same specs we’ve already seen such as a 2-megapixel camera, microSD with support up to 2GB, the ability to use the phone as modem and 240 x 320 display with 262k colors. Sprint services will include Sprint Power Vision Network, Sprint TV, Music Store, mobile, picture and video mail, NFL Mobile Application, On Demand, stereo Bluetooth-enabled, SMS text and voice messaging and wireless backup.

Motorola RAZR Going Red

The Motorola RAZR is getting a brand new hue. Bloody red to remind us of the Global Fund, just as pink reminds us of breast cancer research. The Global Fund, by the way, was created to fund the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, for which Bono and Bobby Shriver created the Product Red campaign. But back to the Red RAZR, the specs will remain the same, including the 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, and microSD slot. The only differences are the color and the price, but all for charity’s sake of course. So show a little love and compassion, practice a little philanthropy, and fork over $289.99 for this Red RAZR when it’s released next month.
