Porsche has officially debuted the fifth generation of its 911 GT3 sports star. The car is a completely redeveloped and is considered to be in the top position among Porsche sports cars with naturally aspirated engines. Porsche brags that the new GT3 was able to set a lap time on the Nurburgring Nordschleife of under 7 minutes and 30 seconds.

Porsche Design and RIM have resurrected the P'9981, the expensive love-it-or-hate-it smartphone that redresses BlackBerry 7 in an angular metal suit, this time in black. The new P'9981 Black has the same touchscreen and QWERTY combo as the silver version we reviewed back in February, as well as a 5-megapixel camera embedded in a leather-covered back, but Porsche Design claims the matte finish case is actually more in keeping with its racing car heritage than the original.

It's with great sadness that I report the second well-known tech visionary's death today, Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, otherwise known as one half of the family racing car business founder duo which also included his grandfather. Porsche's grandfather, also named Ferdinand, designed the original Volkswagen Beetle, while the duo started the Porsche business 20 years after that. The original Porsche 911, developed directly from drawings and models built by Porsche himself, was first shown to the world in September 1963 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
