Radio Flyer Star Wars Landspeeder Review

Radio Flyer Star Wars Landspeeder Review

I had the opportunity to review the Radio Flyer Landspeeder (from Star Wars) this late Fall, and I must say: It's pretty neat. It's not the sort of thing you'd buy if you're looking to roll out on the road - it's not big enough for that. It's not the sort of thing you buy if your kid is reckless - it is a vehicle, after all. This machine is, instead, the worlds most adorable Star Wars gift on wheels.

Trump guts National Monuments; Patagonia, Wildlife Groups fight back

This week the folks at Patagonia clothing company have launched a largely web-based response to Trump's secret axing of National Monument land. The two National Monuments Trump reduced were Bear Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante, one each of these designated by Trumps 2 most recent Democratic predecessors. President Bill Clinton classified Grand Staircase-Escalante in 1996, and President Barack Obama designated Bears Ears a monument in 2016.

Rare Fire Rainbow appears over Isle of Palms, SC

On Sunday, South Carolina became the canvas for a rare "fire rainbow", which is a rainbow that, in this case, twisted upward in the sky and formed what appeared to be a pair of wings. The phenomenon happened at Isle of Palms, and isn’t something you’re likely to see too often. It is rare enough, in fact, that many viewers were baffled by the sight, but a quick look at the tweets filling Twitter reveals they found it pleasant regardless.

Drifter speaker is buoyant, plays music sans smartphone

Portable speakers come in many varieties, and if you have average needs you'll probably find a model that meets your requirements, or most of them. If one of your requirements is a speaker that can hold and play your music directly, though, finding an adequate option becomes harder. Add in ruggedness and buoyancy, and the options dwindle to almost nothing. Thusly enters the Drifter, an oddly shaped speaker that you can knock into the water without risk of ruin, and that plays your music without a smartphone.

Man flies through tiny mountain crevasse wearing wingsuit

Man flies through tiny mountain crevasse wearing wingsuit

This month GoPro published a video of what it says may have been the most technical and difficult BASE jump ever successfully pulled off. The video shows a man who dons a wingsuit and uses it to soar down a mountain in the same manner as a superhero, flying squirrel, or sugar glider, only with an extra dose of technical precision -- he navigates it through a small crevasse in a rock formation in the mountains, a stunt you'd otherwise only see in the movies.
