Nintendo has been very hot and cold lately. From the launch of Pokemon GO, which is shaping up to be the most impressive mobile game launch ever and caused Nintendo's stock price to soar, to the inevitable tumble back to Earth as Nintendo tried to temper investor expectations concerning the amount of money it would pull in from the title, Nintendo has been on something of a rollercoaster the past few weeks. The ride isn't over yet, as Nintendo's newest earnings report has hit, and the results for quarter one are disappointing to say the least.

With a title that goes "Breath of the Wild", some might easily associate it with the phrase "breath of fresh air." In some cases, the game might indeed offer that, breaking from some of the established conventions and limits of previous Zelda games. Unfortunately, the Wii U title still doesn't break free from one of the things that has had fans and even outsiders debating endlessly. That means this Legend of Zelda still doesn't have a female Link as rumored or, at the very least, even a female protagonist.

Super Mario Maker is a very cool game that allows fans to design their own Mario levels that look like games played in the classic Nintendo days of yore. One of the cool things about the game is that you can get different costumes that make your on screen character look like characters from other franchises. Developer Craneballs releases game Splash Cars for iOS and Android, channeling the Nintendo Wii game Splatoon in the process. This game has its users driving tiny cars and trucks, rolling around maps that are subsequently covered in paint. This game follows the "paint road racer", you, the hero. In your mission you'll not only paint the world red (or blue, or green), you'll summon friendly citizens to help you. You'll be at war with your fellow paint racers - it's up to you to re-create and paint the world in your image.
