Pokemon GO teased to get 3 major updates this year

The release of the next generation of Pokemon, plus tweaks to the game's mechanics quickly put Pokemon GO back on the map, bringing back part of the fever and the fervor that welcome it last year. That was just a few weeks ago and it seems that developers Niantic Labs isn't about to slow down. Or so it would seem. At GDC 2017, CEO John Hanke hinted that there are 3 major updates awaiting fans this year. Naturally, it sent the Internet on a speculation spree on what those three features could be.

Pokemon Go trading, PvP coming soon, gym battles to follow

There’s a price to pay for success, especially when said success is the worldwide phenomenon known as Pokemon GO. Although expected to be popular, the “semi” augmented reality game took the world by storm, despite its already staggered release, that developers Niantic Labs was caught unprepared. Add to that the dozens of hacks that tried to game the system and Niantic ended up spending most of its time putting out fires rather than working on some of the most requested game features. The good news is that two or three of those are confirmed to be coming really soon, including trading monsters, battling other players, and doing gym battles.

Pokemon GO now lets Android users play music while hunting

Android users now no longer run the risk of burning the Pokemon GO music theme in theirs ears and subconscious or bear the eerie silence when hunting for Pokemon or battling it out in gyms. Niantic Labs just pushed out an update to both iOS and Android versions but seems to have not mentioned an especially important change for Android users. Users are reporting that the game no longer pauses their current music or podcast when they startup Pokemon GO, allowing them to listen to their choice of tunes.
