Orphiro shows off electric motorcycle that looks retro

There are a bunch of green electric cars on the market today and a few electric motorcycles. The thing that most of those electric motorcycles have in common is that they have a very modern and racy look to them. Take the Mission R electric motorcycle we have talked about before, it looks like a racing motorcycle. Some will like that style and some won't. If you are more the cruiser sort that wants a bike with old school style, the new bike from Orphiro may be your ride.

Hoverbike Brings Return of the Jedi to Life

Hoverbike Brings Return of the Jedi to Life

Chris Malloy of Australia has developed a hoverbike that looks strikingly familiar. This is the first generation prototype that has some definite similarities to the science fiction floating cycles seen in the Lucas film. It is not currently in production, but Chris hopes to bring them to market in about a year. The bike is classified as an ultralite, so there is currently no need of a pilot’s license to operate one.

Parker Brothers Choppers Creates 10 TRON: Legacy Light Cycles, Only 4 Left [Video]

While this may not be the first "real" TRON: Legacy-inspired light cycle to hit the news, these cycles offer the name of Parker Brothers Choppers behind them. And let's face it, seeing more real-life light cycles running around, especially those that can actually be driven on the road, is nothing to pass over. After all, deep down inside we all one.

Considering how many iPod Touch/iPhone docks that are out there, people might have been wondering where on Earth we might see one pop up next. 2012 Izh Hybrid Motorcycle concept packs 3D multifunction display [Video]

There are plenty of good looking hybrid concepts out there, but Igor Chak's 2012 Izh Hybrid Motorcycle also tries to slip in some smartphone integration too.  Chak envisages the bike - which would pair a traditional 140HP V-Twin gas engine with a 60kw electric motor in the rear hub - hitting 80mpg, but also having radar distance control, proximity sensors for blind-spots, and a massive 3D touchscreen LCD.  It's there that we start to get a little worried.

Scala rider G4 intercom for motorcyclists allows four riders to talk

Scala rider G4 intercom for motorcyclists allows four riders to talk

When I was younger, my brother and some friends spent lots of time riding motorcycles. If you needed to get someone to stop so you could talk to them, you had to wave your hands until you caught their attention. Thankfully, today you don’t have to rely on hand signals with devices like the new scala rider G4 from Cardo Systems.

Garmin Nuvi 510 weatherproof touchscreen GPS

Garmin Nuvi 510 weatherproof touchscreen GPS

At first glance we'd expect Garmin's new Nuvi 510 to be a budget model.  After all, the 3.5-inch screen is smaller (and regular aspect rather than widescreen) than most other new GPS devices we see, and there's no fancy graphics or clever 3D building renders.  However Garmin intend the 510 to be used not only in a car but on a motorbike and at sea, and so the feature set is slanted toward that.

The Dreamfit motorcycle mod – for paralyzed bikers

Typically here on Slashgear we cover slightly smaller mods, computers and game consoles are extremely typical. This slightly larger mod, appears  to be a perfectly normal bike. Actually if there weren’t a wheelchair sitting next to it, I wouldn’t have known there was the slightest difference between it and other bikes.

RoadRunner hands-free headset – close, but not quite there

I’ve seen several headsets recently that use bone conduction to get what was said to you, to you, but they were lacking the voice part that goes on your neck for direct connection to your voice box. Now we have a headset that has the voice box part but some dinky little ear bud for the speaker part, when will they marry the two?
