5 Reasons Wolverine 3 will RULE with a capital R (Rating!)

This week it's been revealed that Stephen Merchant will be taking a role with Hugh Jackman in the third Wolverine movie. That'll be called something like "The Wolverine 2", as it were, since the first "The Wolverine" was followed by a prequel featuring the origins of Wolverine - in one timeline, of course. Today we're going to give you a quick run-down of what we're guessing this final epic adventure for the most famous actor to ever take on Old Man Logan.

Angry Birds Movie actors pick alternate universe superhero film roles

Angry Birds Movie actors pick alternate universe superhero film roles

This past week we had the opportunity to speak with Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, and Josh Gad, all of whom told us which superhero they'd be OK with playing in a film in the future. These three are all currently in The Angry Birds Movie - we were at the press junket for said movie, and due to the content of said movie, our conversation dove in on superheroes rather quickly. Be it animated or live-action - which roles would these comedians take if given the opportunity?

Doctor Strange’s first trailer enchants, disorients

Doctor Strange’s first trailer enchants, disorients

DC has had its time in the limelight with the successful, despite critics' opinions, Batman v Superman, but in the coming months, Marvel, either directly or indirectly, will be hogging the theaters. In addition to Captain America: Civil War, X-Men: Apocalypse, and Netflx's Luke Cage, we are looking at another MCU film near the end of the year, one that's perhaps riskier than previous films. Yes, Doctor Strange will be teleporting to cinemas in November, but not before he makes a pit stop in the film's first trailer.

Spider-Man Homecoming is Marvel’s first solo Spidey film

Spider-Man Homecoming is Marvel’s first solo Spidey film

One of the most exciting things in the trailer for Captain America: Civil War was the brief scene with Spider-Man helping Iron Man's team. I particularly like it when Tony Stark yells out "Underoos!" and Spidey flips into action taking Cap's shield. I totally had those Spider-Man Undergoes growing up. While the first time that Spidey shows up in a Marvel film will be in Civil War, Marvel has already announced the title of Spidey's first solo film under the Marvel umbrella.

Marvel’s Doctor Strange: first Cumberbatch image published

We found out last December that Benedict Cumberbatch, the actor perhaps best associated with his role as Sherlock Holmes, will be playing Doctor Strange in Marvel's upcoming movie by the same name. Now, more than a year later, the first official image of Cumberbatch as the doctor has been published; in it we see the character's iconic costume and more than a hint of mysticism.

X-Men Apocalypse full trailer spills ALL the details

X-Men Apocalypse full trailer spills ALL the details

No, true believers, this film will not feature our most favorite of Marvel Comics villains. It will have no Onslaught - but if we weren't wise to the fact that this wasn't, we might think it was. What you're about to witness is a trailer that might change your mind about X-Men Apocalypse if you'd felt sour to the idea before. Not just because the main bad guy is a Power Ranger villain. He wasn't just made by Rita Repulsa.

Watch Deadpool spend Halloween trolling a bunch of kids

Watch Deadpool spend Halloween trolling a bunch of kids

As the role of Deadpool was made for Ryan Reynolds and the suit was cut for him specifically, the actor takes many opportunities to wear it. To wear the skin of the comic book character, figuratively. Or literally, we don't really know, but we're guessing. In the video you're about to see, "How Deadpool Spent Halloween," you're going to see Deadpool speaking with a bunch of kids dressed up like the X-Men, and subsequently swearing at them several times.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 casting calls for beautiful women and odd men

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 casting calls for beautiful women and odd men

A bit of outrage has been prematurely sparked this week as the first casting call for extras on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is sent out. While this first casting release calls for "beautiful/model aliens - MEN and WOMEN" and "Character Aliens - MEN (only)", it also calls for "BALD WOMEN" separately - and is, of course, only the first of MANY such casting calls that'll be revealed over the next few weeks and months. Director James Gunn took to Twitter to stem the influx of negative outcry over the situation this morning.

Disney has announced the scheduling of more than a handful of new titles from the two studios, with release dates stretching out all the way into 2020.

NASA-funded research enacts Wolverine-style healing

NASA-funded research enacts Wolverine-style healing

Researchers have created a material compound that, when ripped, punctured, or damaged in any way, is able to heal itself in a very short span of time. While we're not quite sure on if this technology has any applicability to human or mutant skin, like that of the Marvel Comics character Wolverine, it certainly appears to work in the field. What we're looking at here is what researchers suggest is a "terminator"-style material. We're thinking it's a bit more like our favorite quick-healing Canadian.

Captain America: Civil War teaser leaked from Disney D23 [Update: it’s fake]

Captain America: Civil War teaser leaked from Disney D23 [Update: it’s fake]

UPDATE: Looks like we got hosed. Turns out this "teaser" is nothing more than a fake, fan-made clip. We've heard from several people who attended Disney's D23 event, and they say this was nothing like what was really shown. We'll leave the video below incase anyone is still curious to see it, but just know it's 100% not real.

Those following Marvel's rapidly expanding cinematic universe are already well aware that the third Captain America film is in production, with a release date already confirmed for May 6th, 2016. Over the weekend, Disney held its annual D23 fan club expo in Anaheim, California, and a few lucky attendees got to see a special Marvel presentation. Turns out, these people were treated to one of the very first showings of the teaser trailer for the new Captain America. As should be expected in age of smartphones and internet, a portion of it was recorded and shared on YouTube.

Marvel, Sony, Paramount to skip SDCC

Marvel, Sony, Paramount to skip SDCC

This morning it's become apparent that SDCC isn't the place to be for three of the world's biggest names in comic book-based entertainment. Marvel, Sony, and Paramount Pictures have all confirmed that they will not be making presentations at San Diego Comic Con 2015. While it's not unheard of that one of these three might not show, it's unprecedented that the entire trio won't be revealing news at the world's biggest comic event. Is this a sign that the convention is no longer the place to make massive announcements?
