Panasonic LUMIX GF2 official: Full HD, touchscreen & 19% smaller

Panasonic has officially announced the LUMIX DMC-GF2, their latest Micro Four Thirds camera and 19-percent smaller than the LUMIX GF1 it replaces.  The LUMIX GF2 has a 12.1-megapixel sensor which Panasonic is calling Live MOS, and reckons it offers the image quality of a CCD with the low power consumption of a CMOS; it's also capable of Full HD 1920 x 1080 60i video (or 1280 x 720 60p) with stereo audio recording.

Panasonic's Micro Four Thirds LUMIX GF2 has been spotted in the wild - in poster form at least - by a French 43rumors tipster, who caught sight of the advert in Paris.  The GF2 is expected to be officially announced at an event on Thursday, as the smallest mirrorless kit so far (when paired with the Panasonic 14mm f/2.5 lens.

The promise of 13.2-megapixels in a cellphone-sized package is a red rag to video-hungry bloggers, and so the SlashGear Japan team made sure to stop by Panasonic's booth at CEATEC 2010 this week to check out their new LUMIX phone.  To the untrained eye it could be mistaken for one of the legion of existing Japanese feature-phones on the market, but sure enough if you turn it around there's a 13.2MP sensor and a high-intensity flash.

Panasonic are preparing to extend their LUMIX digital camera brand to cellphones, with the company kicking off a teaser campaign ahead of a promised unveil at CEATEC next week.  Details on the handset are sparse, but Panasonic has confirmed the LUMIX Phone will have their Mobile VenusEngine, WiFi with DLNA media streaming and - according to one translation - a 3-megapixel Update: 13.2-megapixel camera with digital zoom.

I just mentioned the new Lumix GH2 digital camera that Panasonic unveiled today. I mentioned that there was a new 3D lens that was compatible with that camera and the lens is compatible with the entire series of G cameras from Panasonic. The new lens is called the H-FT012 and it has two optical systems in one thin and compact lens.

Panasonic has outed a full five new digital cameras in its Lumix range, including rugged models, HD-video capable shooters and the company's first full hybrid.  The Panasonic Lumix FZ100 kicks things off, with a 14.1-megapixel sensor, Full HD video recording, 24x optical zoom and 11fps burst rates, while the Lumix DMC-FZ40 gets the same sensor and can shoot 720p HD AVCHD Lite video.

Panasonic offers up Lumix DMC-GF1 digital camera

Panasonic has unveiled a slick little point-and-shoot camera called the Lumix DMC-GF1. The camera is the latest addition to the G series of cameras and lays claim to the title of world’s smallest and lightest digital camera with built-in flash. Like other G series cameras, the GF1 uses the micro four thirds system.

Panasonic Lumix GF1 Micro Four Thirds camera leaks

Panasonic's upcoming Lumix GF1 Micro Four Thirds camera has been spotted on a Chinese forum, seemingly a more compact alternative to the company's Lumix G1.  More retro in design than the G1, the GF1 is lacking just about anything in the way of hard specifications right now, but it obviously supports interchangeable lenses together with what looks to be a pop-up flash.
