The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild still has a male Link

With a title that goes "Breath of the Wild", some might easily associate it with the phrase "breath of fresh air." In some cases, the game might indeed offer that, breaking from some of the established conventions and limits of previous Zelda games. Unfortunately, the Wii U title still doesn't break free from one of the things that has had fans and even outsiders debating endlessly. That means this Legend of Zelda still doesn't have a female Link as rumored or, at the very least, even a female protagonist.

Of course, the console also comes with an copy of the original copy of the first Legend of Zelda game, in gold painting, not plating.

3D Zelda remake is playable in your browser

When I grew up, there was only one console in my house for many years. It was the original NES, and it provided my brother and I with countless hours of entertainment. One of our favorite games to play was the original Legend of Zelda. It was the first RPG that I ever played, and it still holds up as a great classic to this day. And now you can play it in your browser.

Link takes over Google Maps for Legend of Zelda’s 30th anniversary

Nintendo has been having a pretty big week. Just this past Saturday, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of the original Pokemon games. Nintendo reveals lots of Zelda, Pokemon, and a Fox coming up

In its latest Nintendo Direct presentation, its first since the passing of the late Satoru Iwata , the gaming company giant laid out its future in the next few months all the way to 2016. At least as far as its games are concerned. There is sadly no hint or even foreshadowing of its long rumored and speculated NX console. But with the extensive lost of games coming our way, some gamers might be distracted for a while, with a variety of games that contain surprise appearances of old school pocket monsters, a gender bender green clad elf hero, and the long awaited return of a space fox.

Legend of Zelda Maker might be the closest you can get

Next to Super Mario Bros., there is perhaps no other classic game that has been the object of every game designer's dreams than the Legend of Zelda. When Nintendo surprised the gaming world with an official Mario Maker, there was, of course, hope that the game publisher would give the same treatment to Link and his world. While that is most probably an impossible dream, reality has never stopped others from trying to step in and making something like this totally unofficial The Legend of Zelda Maker.

Zelda still coming to Wii U

Don't fret, lovers of Zelda, word from Miyamoto himself suggests that Zelda will be coming to Wii U. Just this past March, Nintendo suggested that Zelda might not be coming to Wii U after all - instead heading to their next game platform "codename NX". Today, Miyamoto suggests that while the game might not be coming inside 2015, it'll still be coming to Wii U. Nintendo's current hero console will, eventually, get the Link it's been hoping for since inception. The greatest Zelda adventure to ever grace a console, of course.

“Game of Hyrule” video makes a gorgeous mix of fantasy

You're probably tired, maybe even sick, of the numerous renditions of the now iconic Game of Thrones opening sequence. We've got Starcraft versions, or one that's entirely done inside Minecraft's blocky world. But from time to time, something comes up that's so brilliant that it does give you goosebumps and shivers down your spine. Especially if it pays homage to a well-loved fantasy world. That's exactly what video sketch group Megasteakman accomplished when it rendered Zelda's world of Hyrule into a very short Game of Thrones tour.
