iPhone 2018 made affordable with these features

We should be just a few weeks out from the reveal of Apple's new iPhone lineup for 2018, so naturally, we've got some last-minutes rumor to tell us what we should expect. A new report today has detailed Apple's trio of iPhones, and if you were a fan of last year's iPhone X, it sounds like there's going to be a lot to love here.

Maybe a new iPhone, probably a remix

Maybe a new iPhone, probably a remix

This morning a bit of discovered code indicated Apple had a new iPhone in the mix. Several hypothesis were tossed about, with users suggesting anything from a new low-cost iPhone in the "X" family, a new iPhone SE, and a new iPhone 7. But what's that, you say? A new iPhone 7, how might that work? It's a real behind-the-scenes sort of matter, as it were.

iPhone 2018 release date and pre-order leaked

The new iPhone 2018 series - likely iPhone X Plus and others - had a few dates leaked this morning. According to sources in Germany, mobile service providers are planning on working with iPhone 2018 pre-orders on September 14th, 2018. This falls right in line with Apple's yearly iPhone event, an event which last year took place on September 12th.

If this is Pixel 3, Google should reboot

If this is Pixel 3, Google should reboot

Google Pixel 3 should be the last new phone from the company for the next few years. I'm suggesting this not as a consumer, but as a student of history. Google doesn't make a massive amount of money from the Pixel, and can afford to cut back on new hardware investments right this minute. Since we're at a place in the history of smartphones where there's not a lot of major change going on, it'd be smart of Google to keep its head low.

Motorola P30, an iPhone X copycat, actually looks pretty great

Motorola P30, an iPhone X copycat, actually looks pretty great

When the Motorola P30 was leaked earlier this week, all I could see was the latest Android-laden iPhone X. Even though the Essential Phone PH-1 was the first major smartphone with a notch, Apple put one on their iPhone and sold an outrageous amount of units. Since then, several China-based companies have taken to cloning the iPhone X industrial design as best they could. When you're in a place where making a good, cheaper copy isn't looked down upon, it's rewarded, it makes good business sense to make said copy.

Motorola P30 copied Xiaomi who in turn copied Apple

Motorola P30 copied Xiaomi who in turn copied Apple

There's really no way around it - Motorola's joined the copycat club. This is apparently the Motorola P30, a device with a near-full-frontside display with a notch, a fingerprint sensor in the top middle of its back, and a pill-shaped set of cameras with its LED flash in the center. It's basically the Xiaomi Mi 8, a device which is basically an Android version of the iPhone X.

2018 iPhone Apple Pencil support tipped as upgrade argument gets clearer

2018 iPhone Apple Pencil support tipped as upgrade argument gets clearer

For quite some time now, rumors have been claiming that Apple will launch three iPhones later this year. That isn't the most wild claim to make considering that Apple did the same thing in 2017, but in any case, the general consensus seems to be that we're getting a repeat of the three-phone line up in 2018. Today, analytics firm TrendForce delivered its predictions for 2018's iPhone line, and once again, we're seeing the claim that there will indeed be three phones for consumers to pick from.

2018 iPhone dummy units hands-on video reveals every detail

A new video shows off high-quality iPhone dummies said to showcase the designs Apple will launch with its 2018 models. Though unconfirmed, these dummies are said to accurately replicate the look of each of the three iPhone models Apple is expected to unveil in September, including a 5.8-inch OLED iPhone X update, a 6.5-inch OLED model, and a 6.1-inch model with an LCD.

Snapchat leaked on Github: What’s that mean for you?

Snapchat leaked on Github: What’s that mean for you?

This week some Snapchat source code - not ALL the code, but some - leaked and appeared on Github. That means more than a couple people had access to said source code - or fragment of source code - for a little while. Certainly long enough to download and keep for one's very own. Mercifully it does not appear that the source code leaked was too particularly important for the privacy of end users.

Logitech has a new wireless charging stand for your iPhone [Update]

Though we've been seeing a lot of PC gaming accessories coming out of Logitech lately, today the company is shifting its attention back to smartphones. While we wait on Apple's own AirPower charging mat - which will be compatible with a variety of iOS devices - Logitech has launched a new wireless charging stand of its own. Dubbed POWERED, this new charging stand is primarily aimed toward folks using an iPhone 8, 8 Plus, or an iPhone X.

iPhone XS 2018 hands-on video shows all 3 models

iPhone XS 2018 hands-on video shows all 3 models

A set of three new iPhone models revealed in a video this afternoon suggests we'll go out a whole new door in 2018. Apple was rumored earlier this month to be releasing three devices at once, all this September, each with iPhone in their name. The standard version would simply be called iPhone - that'll be iPhone 2018 when we look back at it in a few years from now. Then there's the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus, replacing the standard X.
