Hyundai and Kia recall over 1.9 million vehicles

In what's perhaps one of the largest recalls ever by both Hyundai and Kia, over 1.9 million vehicles are being recalled due to electrical and airbag issues. The 1.9 million vehicles are spread out between three different recall campaigns. Hyundai issued a similar recall back in 2009 over electrical problems with some of its vehicles.

Hyundai reveals E4U egg-shaped personal mobility vehicle

With a design you won't soon forget, Hyundai's recently unveiled E4U personal mobility vehicle is a concept vehicle with a windshield/helmet combination and egg-shaped yellow body that is, from the back at least, somewhat insect-like in nature. The vehicle was demonstrated at the Seoul Motor Show 2013, and is the byproduct of Hyundai's Advanced Design Department.

Hyundai concept uses smartphone NFC to lock and unlock vehicle

This week the folks at Hyundai have previewed a concept vehicle system in which you'll be able to use your smartphone to unlock your vehicle with a physical tap. This system uses NFC tags to make the connection between your smartphone and your vehicle, taking away the need for you to use a key at all, whatsoever. This system is called "Connectivity Concept" quite simply at the moment and is being previewed at the moment only at the manufacturer's European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany - but we're expecting more up close and personal looks here in the USA soon.

US automaker squealed on Hyundai & Kia economy fudge says EPA exec

A senior exec from a US car manufacturer stuck the knife in on false Hyundai and Kia fuel-economy claims, quietly reporting the foreign marques for "cheating" to the EPA. A "credible" VP from a domestic automaker made the claims back in 2010, former EPA exec Margo Oge confirmed to Automotive News, though declined to confirm which of the brands dropped their Korean rivals in it.
