OXM (kinda) reveals March DLC for Rock Band

Are you thirsting for more tracks to rock out on? Well if you’re a Rock Band player, you know that there’ll be no shortage of DLC for some time. What we generally don’t know is what tracks will be released. Thankfully OXM has gotten the scoop on March’s releases. Hit the jump for the full list.

Rock Band and Guitar Hero sales outperformed legal music downloads last year

It’s a well-guarded secret that I play Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The previous statement was, in fact, a lie. I play them quite often (Rock Band more than Guitar Hero these days) and find myself buying new downloadable tracks on a regular basis. Apparently I’m not alone, as the games actually pulled in more money last year than all of the (legal) digital music downloads combined.

Rock Band Mic reveals the game will be coming to the Wii

Remember not too long ago when we told you that Harmonix had finally announced the release of standalone instruments for Rock Band? That was cool, but they neglected to mention any word about a standalone mic. It was widely assumed that they weren’t overly concerned about it, as most any USB mic would work. Well, as it turns out, it’s already on sale, and its packaging holds a mysterious secret.

While it’s not the best picture, that does indeed say “Wii.”

Rock Band issues being addressed by Harmonix

So the Rock Band issues that a lot of you have been experiencing are being addressed by Harmonix. Specifically the issue with the strum bar on the guitar.

Rock Band bundles will be scarce this holiday season

I have little doubt in my mind that Rock Band is going to be one of the biggest titles of the holiday season. Unfortunately, you may have to fight for your right to get your very own copy.

Rock Band – Only available in bundle form until 2008

Rock Band will no doubt be one of the hottest titles of the holiday season. The Guitar Hero franchise has really stirred up the gaming community and opened the door for other titles in the genre. I’ve already had a chance to play the game, and it takes the idea of Guitar Hero to the next level by incorporating other instruments. That’s not to say that Guitar Hero won’t still appeal to the masses.

Rock Band Tour 2007 – Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive

This clip of Bon Jovi’s Wanted Dead or Alive gives you a good look at the HUD. Your two guitars are to the left and right of the screen (it doesn’t matter which guitar is where) the drums are in the middle and the vocals are up top.

Rock Band Tour 2007 – Inside the Tour Bus, rocking the main stage and another interview

So what was it like to attend one of the Rock Band Tour stops? It was awesome to say the least. I spent most of the time hanging out with John and the nearly legendary Fabio who were having a great time. I shot some good footage of what you will experience if you stop by. Hit the jump for a walk through, as well as a clip of some people rocking out on the main stage (yes, there’s footage of me rocking out).

Interview – John Drake of Harmonix talks about Rock Band

As you might have noticed from my article over the weekend, I traveled up to Chicago (DeKalb to be exact) to catch up with the Rock Band Tour. I’ll say this much, it was well worth it. While I was there I spent some time with John Drake of Harmonix. He took me in the bus and let me rock out for a while and then sat down for an interview. Check it out after the jump.

Rock Band – Official price and release date announced

There has been no shortage of buzz surrounding Rock Band since it was announced. It takes the idea of the highly popular Guitar Hero franchise to the next level. I had the pleasure of testing it out recently (more on that tomorrow) and it definitely lives up to the hype. However, one concern everyone seems to have is the price.

Rock Band goes on tour

If you’re as excited about Rock Band as I am, you want to get your hands on it as soon as possible, right? Thanks to the guys at Harmonix, you’re going to have that chance starting this Sunday when they hit the road and go on tour.

Rock Band gets 10 new tracks, Europe to get localized content

Harmonix announced today that they will indeed be brining Rock Band to Europe on the PS2, PS3 and Xbox 360 sometime in early 2008. While that’s going to be a little behind the US launch, they’re going to get some localized music content to make up for it.

It’s really cool to hear that Harmonix has decided to change what music will be played on the European version of the game. It’s a little hard to imagine that there are plenty of bands that are huge across the pond that we’ve never even heard of.
