With all eyes on Google's new Android Wear program for smartwatches, what better time for the Glass team to show off a little of its wearable history, revealing an early - and awful - concept interface for the head-mounted display during GDC 2014. The Glass team brought the headset along to the Game Developers Conference to talk up its potential to bend digital games with the real world, which perhaps unsurprisingly includes just as many warnings about what not to do as it does advice on best-practice. Ironically, though, one of the biggest pratfalls was one Google's engineers themselves almost fell for.

The gaming developer action has begun this week in San Francisco, California, as we descend upon the 2014 version of GDC, the Game Developers Conference. This conference is held at the Moscone Center this year, the same as Apple and Google conferences of years past, lasting this whole week - yesterday until the 21st, Friday. Google boosts mobile gaming: cross-platform multiplay & more

Google has updated its Google Play Game services to add multiplayer support to iOS, just as on Android, in addition to game gifts for sending in-game objects to other players. The updates, which are timed alongside the Game Developers Conference (GDC) this week, also include sending multiplayer invitations directly from within the Play Games app, while Google is also making specific types of game easier to find by boosting the number of categories in the Play store by eighteen.
