According to the tipsters, the Galaxy S9 will have the same style display as the S8, as well as the same size; Samsung has allegedly handed over the official display specs to its Samsung Display division.

You can find all of these features if you spend enough time swiping through the apps and menus, but there's one you may not know about because there's no way to find it. What is it? We'll give you a hint -- it offers totally free music, no data necessary.

Another new Galaxy S8 model revealed

Another new Galaxy S8 model revealed

The Galaxy S8+ is a pretty solid device when it comes to hardware and features, but in terms of color, we've got some pretty standard options. Despite the fancy names Samsung has come up for these colors, our choices essentially amount to black, gray, and silver here in the US. Today we're getting a look at a new Galaxy S8+ color that may eventually hit US shores, with Samsung announcing a new "rose pink" variant for the phone.

For the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 this morning several key details were leaked surrounding the release and pricing of the handset. Previous leaks suggested sizing and contents of the smartphone, closely resembling those of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. This device's specifications are only slightly different from those of the previously released handset, with a few key details in place to make this the most powerful Samsung smartphone released in history.

Galaxy S8 Active outed on Samsung’s own website

For weeks now, there's been an ever-growing pile of evidence to suggest that the Galaxy S8 Active is on the way. Considering that the Active line has been a popular series of releases for Samsung, it was fairly safe to assume that an entry based on the Galaxy S8 was on the docket. Even with that safe assumption, we're now getting our best evidence that the S8 Active does indeed exist, and it comes from Samsung itself.

This new Google Play Music feature is exclusive to the Galaxy S8 and S8+

Back in April, as we previously reported, Google Play Music offered some special perks for Galaxy S8 and S8+ owners, primarily the ability to upload 100,000 songs to the cloud rather than 50,000, plus an extended 3-month free trial. Now Google has extended another exclusive feature to the Galaxy S8 and S8+ -- a special personalized radio station that plays the latest hits, but only the ones you (probably) want to hear.

Samsung Bixby Voice US is here, but not for every Galaxy S8 user

Samsung Bixby Voice US is here, but not for every Galaxy S8 user

Even though we have a dedicated Bixby button on our Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus handsets, Samsung's take on the smart assistant launched in poor shape here in the US. Though some features have been functioning since the pair of phones released, the most important aspect of Bixby - along with the component that ties all the others together - has been missing. We're referring to Bixby voice, of course, which Samsung said should be available in the US sometime this spring.

Bixby speaker rumors spark even as voice remains absent in US

As expected, Apple has just jumped on the smart speaker arena that Google, Amazon, and, soon, Microsoft already occupy. And as expected, this has started rumors that Apple’s biggest frenemy will also be joining the fray. Samsung is now believed to be aiming for a piece of that pie, with patents pointing to potential smart speaker powered by Bixby no less.

Download security updates for these phones ASAP

Download security updates for these phones ASAP

Google released a list of smartphones this week that includes every device touched by a Security Update over the last two months. This includes devices from a bunch of different manufacturers - everything from BlackBerry to Vivo. Samsung has a bunch in there, as does General Mobile and Google (with its Pixel and Nexus devices). I and we recommend that every device on this list should be checked immediately to make certain these security updates have been downloaded - that means, you, Janice from accounting!

Galaxy S8 Pirates of the Caribbean Edition is official (and hard to get)

Remember that special 'Pirates of the Caribbean' Galaxy S8 variant we saw a couple weeks ago? It is back, and it is official this time. There's a big catch, though, that may disappoint fans located in the western world: it appears to only be available in China, making it particularly difficult to get in the US or similar regions. If you do find someone to send you a copy, though, expect to pay handsomely.

Galaxy S8+ Rose Gold variant appears in leaked photo [update]

The larger of the two Samsung Galaxy S8 handsets, the Galaxy S8+, has appeared online with a new look: a Rose Gold look, to be exact. The pink-colored variant recently surfaced on Chinese website Weibo, the same place we previously saw a gold variation appear. The shade appears very similar to the iPhone's Rose Gold option, though perhaps just a tad darker. The smaller of the two handsets is nowhere to be seen (in this color).

Samsung responds to Galaxy S8 iris scanner hack

Samsung responds to Galaxy S8 iris scanner hack

A couple of days back, we got word that a group of developers had found a way around the Galaxy S8's iris scanner. According to the folks at Chaos Computer Clubs, the iris scanner in the Galaxy S8 can be beaten with a high-resolution, infrared photo of the iris in question with a contact lens laid over it. That, obviously, is a pretty discouraging bit of news, but now Samsung has responded to this report.
