The last bit is optional - and quite obviously made to arrive just in time for the iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, and the rest.

Galaxy S8 Active release date set for T-Mobile and Sprint

The Galaxy S8 Active is quite similar to its inactive brethren, coming with a high-end display, top-notch processor, and a set of nice cameras. This device is different from the Galaxy S8 in that its display is entirely flat. It's flat because this device, the Galaxy S8 Active, is all business - made to withstand the elements and drop from your pocket without instantly shattering into a million pieces.

Samsung brings in Silicon Valley expert to make Bixby relevant

Samsung brings in Silicon Valley expert to make Bixby relevant

The AI assistant Bixby hasn't proven to be the consumer hit Samsung had hoped for and now the company is taking big steps to try and change that. Samsung has tweaked its personnel arrangement, bringing in expert Eui-suk Chung from Silicon Valley to work alongside its mobile division research lead Injong Rhee. Rhee will retain his role at the company, though.

iPhone X release supply may slim as Apple refines TrueDepth

A report from Taipei suggested today that the iPhone X is struggling with a bit of a production delay. Sources suggest that this delay has to do with manufacturers struggling to perfect the dot projector portion of the 3D sensor setup in the iPhone X's sensor array. Analysts believe that while Apple's manufacturing speed at the launch of iPhone X may not be ideal, but mid-October remains the go-date for mass production.

Samsung making more from iPhone X than their own Galaxy

Apple's iPhone X is expected to bring Samsung more earnings in its first 20 months on sale than their own Galaxy smartphones. This is according to analyst group Counterpoint, who suggest that Apple will sell approximately 130 million iPhone X units by the summer of 2019, earning Samsung one whole heck of a lot of cash from OLED manufacturing. Initial analysis suggests that Samsung Display makes $110 per iPhone X unit made.

Galaxy S9’s camera likely a speed-master for slo-mo

The Galaxy S9 may be the first major device to benefit from a Samsung image sensor revealed in the rumor mill this week. The 3-layer image processing unit is tipped to use a method of capture not entirely unlike the 3-layer image sensor released this year by Sony. If the past is any indicator, it would not be a surprise to see Samsung employ this new image processor in some models, while Sony's equivalent IMX image processor lives in others.

Samsung just made the Bixby button even more pointless

Samsung just made the Bixby button even more pointless

Speaking as a Galaxy S8 owner, I have to say that the phone is great, save for one rather annoying feature: the Bixby button. Not only is its usefulness wasted on me - someone who doesn't have much interest in Bixby - but it's also located in one of the most frustrating places. If you find yourself in the same boat, then take heart, because a new update is letting you fix those problems.

Galaxy Note 8 preorder sales beat 7 (so far)

As of the publication of this article, Samsung's Galaxy Note 8 has out-sold every Galaxy Note smartphone before it. Over this same period of time (since announcement), more people have pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 than any other smartphone in the Galaxy Note lineup. This is a relief, I'm sure, to those at Samsung worried that last year's Galaxy Note 7 fiasco would dent the line's future sales.

The Bixby button is the bane of my mobile existence

The Bixby button is the bane of my mobile existence

Samsung made a controversial decision with its flagship Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ smartphones: to include a physical button for summoning Bixby, the personal assistant that wasn't finished upon the handsets' launch. Some people were okay with the button's existence when the option (briefly and unofficially) existed to remap it. Samsung squashed that ability, though, and now we're left with a button that is, for many of us, really annoying and completely useless.
