Fujifilm has announced six cameras in its S-series range, the S4600, S4700, S4800, and the S6600, S6700, and S6800. The first three are entry-level super zooms offering 720p HD video recording, while the latter three bring 1080i recording and high ISO to the table in addition to high optical zoom rates. Fujifilm has announced a couple of new compact shooters here at CES, the X20 and the X100S. Camera aficionados have been waiting a while for a successor to the X100, and it's finally here. Specifically, Fujifilm is claiming that the X100S has the world's fastest auto-focus of any camera, with a 0.8-second AF.

Earlier this morning, it was announced that Kodak sold off all of their digital imaging patents for a total of $525 million in order to help pay off chapter 11 bankruptcy bills. At the time, though, a list of companies who bought these patents off of Kodak wasn’t disclosed, but now the list has been released, and it includes a total of 12 companies, including Apple, Google, and Research In Motion.

Fujifilm has outed its latest interchangeable lens compact camera, and if your life is buoyed by knurled dials and classic aluminum style, the X-E1 may be the model for you. Packing a custom 16.3-megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor and compatible with Fujifilm's X-Mount lens system from the X-Pro1 rangefinder, the Fujifilm X-E1 comes in at 30-percent smaller than its chunky sibling while still, the company insists, producing stills and video that can rival full-frame DSLRs.

Two new Fujifilm cameras have appeared in the camera leak stream today, both of them coming soon, it would seem, in Fujifilm's X-Series of high-end retro-casing shooters. The first of these is the pocket-sized XF-1 (aka XP-1 until we get some clarification) which will almost certainly bring on the least expensive set of specifications to the lineup this Fall. The other is the X-E1, a device that brings on what might be just a bit less power than the X-Pro1.
