Fallout 76 is a title quite unlike any Fallout game Bethesda has made before. As revealed at E3 2018, Fallout 76 will be an entirely online game, which is a massive departure from Bethesda's usual single-player approach to its epic RPGs. Cross-platform play is something that's on the minds of a lot of gamers at the moment, and Sony has been getting a lot of negative attention because of it. Warner Bros. has been slapped with a lawsuit from Bethesda over its Westworld mobile game, calling it a "blatant rio-off" of Fallout Shelter. The lawsuit was recently filed in Maryland, and it accuses Westworld developer Behaviour of using "copyrighted computer code," among other things.

We knew that Fallout 76 was going to be the main attraction at Bethesda's E3 press conference, and the company certainly didn't disappoint in that regard. Bethesda's Todd Howard took the stage to talk at length about Fallout 76 tonight, and in doing so, he gave us a much better idea of what to expect from the game. He also dropped a pretty big bomb (no pun intended there) by announcing that Fallout 76 will be an "entirely" online game.

If you've visited Twitch at any point in the last 24 hours, you probably encountered a very strange livestream hosted by Bethesda. Yesterday morning, the company began streaming video of a Vault Boy bobblehead in front of a screen that featured Fallout's iconic "Please Stand By" alert, managing to keep thousands upon thousands of viewers watching throughout the day and night. Now, many hours later, that livestream has culminated with the reveal of a new game: Fallout 76.
