Galaxy Buds in Canary Yellow will match the Galaxy S10e

Galaxy Buds in Canary Yellow will match the Galaxy S10e

This year, Samsung is expected to do an Apple and release three Galaxy S10 models covering three different sizes and three different price tiers. It's also expected to do half an Apple and offer one new bright color that contrasts with its otherwise somber collection. Although not limited to it, Canary Yellow is pretty much the Galaxy S10e's signature color. It isn't stopping there and will apparently launch a matching Galaxy Buds in the same color, something Apple would never do for its own AirPods.

Apple AirPods 2 changes are on the inside, not outside

Apple AirPods 2 changes are on the inside, not outside

For months now, we've been hearing rumors that claim a refreshed set of AirPods are on the way from Apple. The AirPods we have now were released way back at the tail end of 2016, so it wouldn't be surprising if Apple - which has a habit of releasing yearly refreshes for many of its devices - decides its time for a new model. Today, details about AirPods 2 have leaked out, and though it sounds like Apple's wireless earbuds will go through some significant changes, none of those will be outwardly obvious.

Xiaomi AirDots Pro unabashedly look like someone else’s earbuds

Xiaomi has long been regarded as copying Apple’s designs but it has been making good strides lately in distancing itself from that image. Unfortunately, it may have just fallen back on old habits at least with one of its accessories. Despite the name, last year’s Xiaomi AirDots looked nothing like anything Apple would have made. With the new AirDots Pro, however, Xiaomi is leaving little to chance and is making a pair of earbuds that are unmistakably “inspired” by Apple’s AirPods.

Apple’s headphones: Let’s look at plans at the USPTO

Remember when Apple acquired Beats by Dre, and they suddenly cornered the headphones market worldwide? Since that happened, the company released a pair of wireless earbuds - not Beats earbuds, but Apple-branded. It's not as though Beats was ever the biggest brand in earbuds, but still - now Apple sells their own earbuds in the same store as Beats brand audio equipment. Now it would seem that Apple's readying themselves to release their own version of the Beats flagship: over-ear headphones.

Xiaomi Mi AirDots true wireless earbuds are affordable, out of reach

Xiaomi Mi AirDots true wireless earbuds are affordable, out of reach

Apple can perhaps be credited for popularizing the already existing “true” wireless earbuds market, giving birth to both new products and knock-offs. Chinese manufacturers are notorious for the latter and one would expect someone like Xiaomi to once again copy those designs and products. The Chinese company has outgrown that inclination and while its new Mi AirDots might sound like the AirPods, they are thankfully quite far from being cheap clones. Though they are definitely cheap if you can get your hands on a pair.
