Wonder Woman 2 is officially on the books and dated - just as the first film passed Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 this past weekend. This next film will be released after the next installment in the DC Comics superhero universe (aka DC Extended Universe) - that'll take its next form in Justice League, a film that'll be released around the world on November 17th, 2017. Gal Gadot will return as Wonder Woman in Justice League first, then again in Wonder Woman 2 (or whatever it'll be called) soon thereafter.
The LEGO DC Super Heroes Wonder Woman Warrior Battle (set 76075) ticks all the boxes for essential and classic LEGO set. While there's not really a BAD set of LEGO bricks for the first Wonder Woman movie as yet - this is the only one out in stores so far, as it were. Cross your fingers for a whole lot more down the line - especially in the form of Justice League action.
The runaway box office success of Wonder Woman has redeemed DC in the eyes of fans and the rest of the world. It has also seemed to have emboldened the comics giant to strike out new partnerships and collaborations across the world in an attempt to capitalize on that success. Taking a somewhat risky move, DC has partnered with Japanese creators to bring an original manga about these spandex-clad superheroes to life, in a series titled "Batman and the Justice League."
Every good modern superhero needs a great jacket. For Chris Pratt's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hero Star Lord (AKA Peter Quill), that means a red ravager jacket. The jacket we're taking a peek at today is a replica made by the folks at Film Jackets, and for lack of a better term to describe a piece of clothing such as this, this jacket is completely radical.
The film Logan (2017) features several vintage-looking X-Men comic books that play a key role in the playing out of the film's plot. This week we got the opportunity to pose a number of questions to the creator of those comic illustrations and designs, Dan Panosian. This illustrator is wildly talented in creating a wide variety of looks in his drawings and comic book designs and is also - importantly - able to illustrate, ink, and letter pages and covers for comics. WARNING: The following may have SPOILERS for the film Logan (2017).
The year 2017 is set to be a monumental period for comic book movies - both for key moments in timelines and for finales. For moviegoers that love either the Marvel Comics various movie universes or DC Comics movie universe, things are about to come to a head. For those that love the movies-made-comics-made-movie universe of ALIEN, one of the most major films in the series approaches. Then there's Star Wars - always with the Star Wars.
Let's be honest. It may have not been the perfect pairing in the first place. Except to its faithful fans, or what's left of them after this, Scribd is perhaps best known for sharing documents, papers, even legal documents. It later broke out into the ebook and audiobook markets and then, February last year, dared to compete with Comixology (ironically now owned by rival Amazon) by offering digital comics. Apparently that didn't turn out so well because after making a big splash about its arrival, Scribd has silently pulled out those comics apparently since last month.
If you lucked out on Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas deals, don't you fret, Amazon has got you covered. At 00:00 PT on 30th December, that is, midnight in the Pacific (3 AM Eastern), Amazon will be letting loose a barrage of sales, from 50% to 75% to 80% off on loads of items on its shelves. Digital shelves, that is. Amazon Digital Day cometh and while it will naturally be limited to digital products, this day and age that is exactly what buyers want.
What do The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, Batman, and Guardians of the Galaxy have in common? Aside from being hit titles in the entertainment market, that is. As of today, all four of the above have a Telltale Game to their name. Or at least soon all four will. At The Game Awards, famed game makers Telltale Games and the comic book giant Marvel announced a collaboration that no one except them saw coming: a game based on a once obscure superhero team that has unexpectedly taken the box office by storm.
Tips suggest a 2017 release of the long-awaited fighting video game Marvel vs. Capcom 4 for all major gaming platforms. As such, we've been hard at work creating a list of the 10 best Marvel Comics characters we think should either return to this universe or appear here for the first time in the game franchise's history. Some of these characters are quite likely, while others almost certainly won't make the cut, regardless of their excellence.
Fans of anime and other Japanese entertainment have been anticipating the live-action American adaptation of Ghost in the Shell, the influential manga and animated movie, for some time now. After spending years in Hollywood development hell, the project finally began moving forward this year. It also stirred up some real controversy several months ago, following the casting of Scarlett Johansson as "The Major." But now the first trailer has been released, and we finally get a good look at how it's coming together.
