The 2021 Chevrolet Corvette C8 is one hell of a supercar. And now, Chevrolet is further sweetening the deal by introducing a host of new equipment without hiking base prices. Also new for 2021 are new paint colors and a sprinkling of new technology.
Lots of car folks take the engine out of one car and cram it under the hood of another. The engine swap is nothing new. As EVs have become more common people have taken to swapping EV powertrains into cars that were never intended to run on batteries. This is exactly what this Honda S2000 is.
Hennessey has taken a 2019 Chevy Silverado Trail Boss truck and turned it into a very different beast. The truck comes on the heels of the similar Velociraptor 6x6 truck that started life as a normal Ford Raptor. The new Chevy is called the Goliath 6x6 and it has both more wheels and more power.
GM has announced that it will be killing off the Chevy Sonic subcompact car. The move is part of the automakers plan to ditch small low-margin cars and focus on higher margin and more popular SUVs. The Sonic was a decent looking if boring to drive car that has been around for many model years at this point.
Serendipity is often credited for some accidental but happy discoveries in history, from penicillin to super glue. Now Chevrolet is claiming yet another “accidental” discovery, that its upcoming 2019 Corvette ZR1 happens to be the fastest coupe to have rolled on the VIR, a.k.a. the Virginia International Raceway, considered one of the most challenging road course. And, Chevy says, it wasn’t even trying to beat any record. In fact, it didn’t even have a race car driver behind the wheel.
The 2018 Detroit Auto Show doesn't start until mid-January, but Chevrolet has decided to pull the wraps of its newest truck a bit early, offering an early peak at the 2019 Silverado. The all-new pickup was unveiled at the Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, and while technical details won't be shared until next month, Chevy used the opportunity to highlight some of the Silverado's key differences against the Ford F-150.
Chevy and Hot Wheels have teamed up for a real-world car that you will be able to buy in the spring of 2018 that looks like one of the iconic Hot Wheels cars you can buy in stores. The car wears an orange shade on the outside called Crush meant to remind of the orange tracks Hot Wheels makes.
Since I was 12 and got my first subscription to MotorTrend magazine, I have long thought that the guys who get to work there have the greatest jobs ever. They get to drive all sorts of cool vehicles and drive them fast. They als get to do the World's' Greatest Drag Race, something they have done alongside their Best Driver's Car each year since 2011.
Corvette enthusiasts may remember back to 2013 when Callaway, the Chevy customization specialist, debuted its concept for what many have referred to as a wagon-style modification for the two-door coupe. Dubbed the AeroWagen package, the add-on technically gives the Corvette a shooting brake look, stretching the car's roof line towards the back. Whatever you may call it, the aftermarket part is finally available for almost all C7 Corvette models, including the Z06 and Grand Sport.
The Lego Batman Movie will be hitting theaters in less than a month, and to help promote it the Lego company teamed up with Chevrolet to take the film's latest take on the Batmobile and build a life-size version of it out of — wait for it — (almost) nothing but plastic Lego bricks. While it may look like the latest Batman Lego set you can buy in stores in the photos shown here, it's actually a 17-foot long, 1,700-pound replica made from just over 344,000 bricks.
The Corvette. Chevy's masterpiece of a two-door sports car, with an iconic, easily recognizable design. The thought of giving it a wagon-style body, even maintaining the same number of doors, seems like it should be a crime. But — what if — it was actually awesome? Turns out it is, and Callaway has already made it a reality. The aftermarket tuner, known for customizing cars with the Chevy badge — especially Corvettes — has announced the AeroWagen package for C7 Stingray and Z06 models, to be available this fall.
