TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 makes Android Wear high-end

This week the folks at TAG Heuer and Intel have revealed the newest in high-end smartwatch power. This is the TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45, a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen display-toting smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0. This watch is meant to aim for those that wish to roll with the newest in new smartwatch technology alongside top-end hardware from a brand the legacy watch industry has grown to trust.

Inside this watch is the Intel Atom Z34XX processor, enabling this watch to run the newest in Android Wear 2.0 technology. According to Intel and TAG Heuer, the greatness of this watch lies in its engineering. A titanium body covered with a 2.5 Sapphire cover glass is meant to be the best of the best.

"A feat in engineering," said TAG Heuer and Intel, "it took the combined engineering prowess of Tag Heuer and Intel to create an all-metal watch that could support Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and Near Field Communications." This device works with Tap-to-pay with NFC as well as on-screen navigation without needing to be tethered to a smartphone.

This device works with Google Voice control with a single microphone. Users can also use a TAG Heuer Companion app whilst using an Android smartphone for in-depth customization and control. This watch has "more than a day" of power with a single charge, 4GB of memory, and water resistance up to 5ATM.

The TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45 will be released with 56 different version choices right off the bat. TAG Heuer suggests that there'll be 11 styles offered in-store, while an additional 45 styles will be available upon request. A whopping 30 different watch dial options are included right out the gate, too.

Those that wish to trade out from a smartwatch to something more classical can do so as well. "The module can be changed out," said TAG Heuer, "for a mechanical watch or the prestigious Heuer 02T Tourbillon Chronograph."

This watch will be available starting on the 15th of March, 2017. Pricing starts worldwide at $1,600 USD, and the watch will be available via the TAG Heuer online store.
