Switch eShop update is all about Pokemon and stick figures

Nintendo is back this week with another batch of games its sending live on the eShop for Switch, 3DS, and Wii U. This week's round up includes a Pokemon game that was first revealed only a couple of days ago, along with a quirky indie title that has found a lot of success on Steam. There's also a demo for Mario Tennis Aces going live for the weekend, so get ready to spend some time with that as well.

That Pokemon game is, of course, Pokemon Quest, a free-to-start title that boils down the progression of mainline Pokemon games into a something that plays a lot like a mobile game. Pokemon veterans may not find a lot to love in Pokemon Quest, but it might be worth a try for those who played Pokemon ages ago but haven't touched the series in a long time. This game has been available since yesterday, so Nintendo got this week's releases moving a little bit early.

Also new to the Switch this week is West of Loathing, a fascinating little indie game that has won itself a lot of fans on PC. West of Loathing might not seem like anything much at first glance, but many who have tried the game were hooked by its western setting and funny writing.
